Start/Stop button issue

Hi Everyone, I'm really new to the site - in fact, new to the MINI world!! Bruiser and I are having a super time. Tonight when I tucked him into his spot in the garage, turned the motor off, removed the key and came into the house I see my cell phone is still connected to Bluetooth. For some reason I can't get the start/stop button to shut down. Any suggestions? I tried starting him up and shutting him off again, to no avail.
Thanks much.

Hold the start/stop button for about a second.
