R56 a how to replacing the rear bulbs?
embarrassingly enough, for the life of me, I can’t remember if you have to remove the whole assy or access it from an inside panel.
If I had to make an intelligent guess, I’d say you have to remove the entire rear taillamp. In order to do so, you’ll have to remove the taillamp ring by inserting a plastic tool on the inside edge of the trim ring and working around in a circular product. Then you’ll remove the bolts/screws holding the lamp on.
I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s how you remove the bulb. Hopefully someone can chime in.

There are step by step instructions in your owners manual.
You can download a PDF of the owners manual from https://ol.miniusa.com/

1.) Read the owners manual.
2.) Buy the new Bentley Repair Manual.
3.) You really need a video on how to change a light bulb? Remove access cover, reach in, unplug bulb holder, replace bulb in holder, install holder... It helps if you are a small Asian person, (I'm not, but I can do it...)

Orangecrush is right. After dicking around for 2 hours trying to get my ham fisted hand in that impossible area, dropping the lamp, taking out the wrong one and trying to fish around for it, not getting the bulb seated, I popped off the rear lamp assembly bezel with a small screwdriver, there are 3 torx screws to remove and voilà, the whole assembly comes out the back and you can 1, see what you are doing, 2 properly seat the lamp in the assembly, 3 it works. Takes about 10 minutes instead of wanting to throw the mini into the woods. You have to tip the assembly just right to get it out, but it's easy to figure, I think the bottom goes in first and comes out last because of those long arms on the bottom backup lamp. I read the owners manual and it doesn't even tell you how many lamps are in there (4), much less which ones are which, nor does it tell you what they are. As far as I'm concerned that manual is a book of deception. The less you know the more you have to take it to the dealer.
