what phone are you using with your bluetooth?

Wondering if I can take a poll of sorts. Just talked to the salesguy who sold me my countryman S, and addressed my concern with the crappy quality I'm getting with the bluetooth microphone(even after switching the position of it). He brought up the point that it's a software issue, and the iphone 4's are working much better with it. He was actually in a countryman S, on an iphone 4, and he sounded crystal clear. I have an iphone 3GS, and he's said he's been hearing problems with them.

So, what are you running(phone and OS version), and how is your microphone quality with people on the other end?

Me - iphone 3gs(ios 5), microphone quality - terrible

I'm running an unusual phone - a Nokia N900; microphone and sound quality is great...

Blackberry Bold here, too (in a MCS...hope that doesn't matter ). My girlfriend uses a Samsung refurbed something or other in her All4, and the sound is a little compromised but still functional.

Used iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and now iPhone 4S, works great with all of them.

Bluetooth is Bluetooth, regardless of the handset.

hey, do you know that for a fact, or is it just because no one has mentioned it? Just curious. Did you move your mic?

I know it from feedback of people I'm used to talk to. In my previous car, I used either a Moto bluetooth head phone and a tomtom. Both were noisy and people had difficulties to hear me. From what they told me now, noise is really filtered and they it's like I'm seating close.
I did not change anything to the Mini setup.

I'm using an iPhone 4 running IOS5, works fine in my '11 Countryman S. My son just got a Motorola Atrix, and also works great in his '11 Justa.

Just got the 4S after the 4. Running IO S5 and it works perfectly. I have read that speaking directly toward the rear view mirror can improve the clarity of your voice on the other end of the conversation.

My wife's Iphone (forgot the version) is just ok IMO. It is functional but not crystal clear. I tried to move the mic to the left side (via the instruction vid on this site) but couldn't get the wire disconnected and was reluctant to force it. My biggest complaint is the voice dialing. On the MC you have to train (record) the name and number. This is old technology. In our other car it works just like my BB Bold and will dial anyone in my address book and picks up the commands very accurately. The system is ok particular if I am calling into the car but overall could benefit from an upgrade in the technology. JMO.

thanks bent! Testing mine with my wifes iphone 4 this weekend. Fingers crossed! I'm wanting to upgrade to a 4s anyway. Could have a good reason now.
