R50/53 Smallest Club: Over a year and no accidents, no dings, no de
I keep my MINI in it's original box and packaging so that it will never see even one speck of dust on its flawless paint. It will be much more valuable to a collector one day if I don't ever enjoy motoring in it

My MCS has made one year and logged 10,500 miles.
I have many many nicks on the front paint, mirror covers and even the white roof. And a few door dings/scratches that are minor. A few windshield chips that are minor.
It would be pretty tough not to get a few cosmetic flaws if you drove your MINI around for a year, especially at highway speeds.
I don't worry too much about all these. Just gives me more of an excuse to repaint my front in a different color-maybe with a more durable paint. Maybe add aero side skirts and front bumper; paint the wheel arches, etc.

Yeah, but the first are the hardest.
I wrote my story on the thread about stupid people... I got double whammied a month or so after just getting my car. One in the front on the way home by a drunken cyclist , the other in the rear by an absent minded soccer mom not more than two hours later.
Now, I'm ok with small dings. In fact, I accidentally reversed my snowblower into the bumper last month and didn't even scream (long)
Here's my question: how many pay the ding-man to make them "disappear"? They quoted me $60 to repair this one... I'm prolly gonna do it too.

31K (approx 1650 miles /month) and I have my fair share of little dings and such.
It's nearly impossible to use this car as a daily driver and not have these little.... lets call em...imperfections  The paint is not the greatest quality and therfore is prone to nicks and scratches. The plastic fender flares and front bumpers also have little... dings
IMHO the inside is really the problematic part as most of the blemishes are there.
The plastic parts orn the dashboard and the door panels have...issues
and the back of both front seats... have their share of nicks.
It's what it is
Peace,
D

>>My friend's MCS got rear ended last month when it was like -35C and his poor bumper blew into a million shards, as it was so brittle from the cold
That may not have been the cold. My wife was on the highway running around 75 and a toyota kicked up a 4"x1/2"x4ft plank. It flew about 5 ft into the air and managed to hit the front bumper of the cooper. The front bumper cover exploded even though it was in the 50's. It looked really bad but was just cosmetic. Actually it was quite a lucky mishap, didn't hit a light, didn't hit the winshield, didn't hit the bonnet, etc. This happened about 3 months into ownership. Since then its been a full year of fun and no dings. Well.....except the one I put in the paint with a gas nozzle.

29.7 k miles on DaMINI. Purchased end of 30 Sep 02. It is a 03 SG/b MC and driven daily into DC. No door dings or scratches. A couple of paint chips on the nose, and a broken fog lamp (still works though). I figure between 8 and 10 k miles are interstate trips (3 to Fl, one to TN, 2 to NC). It is also the car I take the dogs to the park in. I love this car.

So far the only damage to my MCS was from scratches caused by a cheap car cover that I bought from my MINI dealer. The scratches have been buffed out so now the paint looks like new again.
No dings, dents, on the paint, the wheels are still like new, and the leather interior still looks and smells like new.
However, the MINI is not my everyday ride, is does stay in the garage when not being driven and I only have 5600 miles on the clock to date. The 03 MCS is only eight months old so I guess I'm a little behind on the miles.
