Hello,

I have a Mini Cooper S, 3 months old I was wondering if anyone has had troubles with there ASC control on there S. A few weeks back I was pulling onto a road near my house and my ASC kicked in and stayed on for a good 25 - 30 mile drive to work. Checked the handbook and it said to contact the dealer. However, since I turned off and turned back on my car the ASC light wasn't on so I didn't think anything of it and didn't contact them. I have noticed now over the past week or so that when accelerating in 1st gear my wheel pulls to the right slightly and I have to correct. Then in 2nd and 3rd gears between 3 and 5000 RPM I have noticed a strange bounce or I think this might be what I've heard as the Yo Yo effect. It is very faint and not very noticable, but I know its there. Yesterday I decided that I was going to shut off my ASC and see how it did at the next stop light. It was so much different, the drive was alot more smooth and I didn't feel any pull of the wheel or the yoyo effect.

I was wondering if anyone could describe the yo yo effect to see if I do have that, also if anyone has had similiar problems with the ASC, and what the dealer's tipical response is to this type of situation.

Thanks,
Dd.
