Tell me about your 18x8 wheels -- backspacing? rubbing?

Considering a second set of wheels and tires for summer.

Many of the wheels I'm considering are available only in 18x8.

If you have 18x8's on your Countryman, I'd be interested to know what wheels, what the backspacing is, what tires you're running, and whether you have any rubbing/clearance issues.

I am also interested to hear. I must be missing something on why there are not more people using BMW wheels. Hub bore on some are the same, looks like 35-45 ET will work without a problem on a 8" wheel. BMW replicas are dirt cheap to get and some I think would look very sharp on a CM.

Anyone know if 255-50/R18 non runflats on the stock 18" turbofans will fit. Will the sidewalls bulge and rub as they are not as stiff as the runflats.

Thanks,

Bill

Are the 19x8.5 rims you speak of in your sig? I have some old 19x8.5 rims I had on my BMW that I might referb (curb rash) and throw on my CMS. I will post pics this weekend.

I'm getting my 18x8 35mm BMW CSL wheels on tomorrow. Was planning 18x8.5 35, but figured it's too wide of a stance without the jcw body kit. It won't give you rubbing issues if you dont slam your CM, 1-1.5" drop will be safe.

I love the CSL rim, please post pics when you have them on there. Are you going to lower it as well?

Cool.

I can't wait to lower mine. I am going with the NM springs, I will order them next week. I have a lowered 325i and a low siting 2011 GT500 (see sig) so I am used to it. I have some old 19's from my BMW I am going to put on and see how it looks. but will probably go with 18's when I lower it. We'll see...
