Went to go see my 2012 cooper s with JCW package They have not yet Installed tune yet ,but noticed two things.First a screw in the rear tire,which I dont know if they will replace,second the grill is chrome,should be black I thought,did they change for 2012?

 

I would make them change the screw... I mean tire. I would rather have the chrome grill. If mine comes in black, I'll swap ya.

 

My wife is an MA in Atlanta and they had a 2012 cooper S come in with the jcw aero kit and it also had the chrome surround. She also thought it should be black but they are waiting for conformation. Is it possible that a JCW car ordered from the factory has black surround and coopers with the aero kit get chrome?

 

It says online when ordering JCW option it comes with a black grill.Unless they changed it for 2012?

 

They changed it in the end of 2011. The JCW is the only one that get the black surround. The S cars with the aero package get the chrome surround. Do a search and you might find the post.

 

The JCW Coupe in all the press photos had a chrome grille surround. I'm hoping it will be chrome on mine. I'd actually like to have the whole slatted chrome grille from the Cooper.

 

That stinks,that was not what they told me,I hoping they will change it for me,after all I had alot of dealer installed options tune kit,steering wheel ,2 gauges.THey should be able to change that out,does not look costly.

 

I just ordered the black surround (no aero kit) and the dealer installed it when it got off the boat. Easy fix.

 

enzotanning, I have a 2012 MCS with the JCW aero package and it came with the chrome surround. The dealer swapped it out for a black surround after I pointed out that the configurator showed a black surround at the time I ordered it. Your dealer should do the same if they told you that was what you would be getting. Good luck and congrats on the new MINI. BTW, I also have the tuning kit and it is great!
