My Silk Green Mini :)

Hello,

This is actually my first post... I have had my mini since 2007 and I've had a blast with it. I'm thinking about selling it, but I've never had this much trouble deciding before with a car! Ha... They just seem to have so much personality that it's hard to let them go.

Nothings wrong with it, just thinking I'd like an automatic... But I love the color and all the bells and whistles on mine. It only has 65,000 miles.
It's been a great little car.

This is the photo from when I first got it... (It's a scan so colors not the best)

This is one I took in my driveway just the other day...

Oh! and yes, I have two sets of wheels and tires. The ones on now are all weather tires... it's surprising how well they do in the snow! as long as it's not too deep that is. Ha.

It looks great. I dont think you should sell it unless you're looking for something that it cant provide you. Love the front bumper/grill and side skirts.

Great colour, the car looks really good.

Did you do the Aero-kit front bumber install yourself?

Great looking R50! Don't sell it just for an auto!! Silk Green seems to be a rare color, hang onto it

Thanks! and I know!! it's really hard to think of selling it...

And no, I'm the second owner so everything was done by the first owner... I do love the green on the skirting on the sides though. Haven't seen another silk green like it.

Here's some more pics!

Sorry! probably everyone but me know this but... I'm not good at knowing what all the abbreviations mean? I get the 06 with 49k, but not sure what the PW/B and mcsa mean?

I'm in Iowa.

I'm sure I sound like a really bad mini owner when I say... what's an aero kit?

And the seats are heated ... one of my favorite things!! in our midwest winters!

the aero kit is just the front and back bumper and side skirts. basically a factory body kit.

I was saying my car is a Pepper White with a Black Roof, MINI Cooper S with Automatic Transmission I bet I would like it more with the arches painted Silk Green. The rear bumper is not my style but still overall it's interesting! My gallery has a few pics. It does have heated seats and the steering wheel has radio/cruise control. Minus road salt underneath it is in pretty great shape.

Ahh... I see. Thanks for explaining I wondered why the side skirting was green when all others I've seen have been black.

I've been wanting to replace the decals on the back but didn't know if I could order just those, or where I could get them... you think that's possible?

Here's a photo of what I'm talking about.

Nice SG! We had a SG/B too for a while (for my wife), but needed to replace it with a bigger car. But yours is the first I've seen with the aero kit - very nice!

It's a rare color - keep it!

And to answer your question, you can probably get replacement decals from a dealer if their parts guy is good enough... Or, if you want something more unique, go to a sign shop or anyone who works with die-cut vinyl, and they can probably make you new ones using the old ones as a template...

Don't sell it! Like others have said---Silk Green is a rare color! My favorite color, actually (after Electric Blue).

Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I know! I love the color too!!...

If I could afford to keep it and get another car I would... but I'm needing something bigger, and an automatic. Thinking about a Clubman.

How do I find out what my mini is worth? Should I just go by KBB?

I wouldn't trust KBB. Best way I found is look in your area that's selling them specially dealers. Then do a regional search. The color and add on's will help sell it but I wouldn't try to add a hearty extra cost just for those items. Of course never do a trade in. Take the prices you seen avg them out and low ball if you want a quick sale or keep in mid-range if you can hold out. Good luck Between a 400-600 dollar difference from a base club to country I would go country. I road in one and impressed with space but it was lacking in performance since it does use the same engine.
