Setup required to run a mild drop with 18x8's?

I'm debating whether or not to start my suspension adventure..I've been looking at the Rota MC 18x8. My ultimate goal is to have spacers that push me out to a 35mm ET and lower my r53 with either cheaper variant Tein's or Megans. With that being said I know that adjustable control arms are a must with this setup, but what else is required to keep me from rubbing the rear since according to reviews the rear has the most problems after lowering. If I don't go with the coilovers, what other options do I have? Lowering springs? What brands provide a less harsh ride? This is my DD by the way, what struts can I run with lowering springs without a risk?

Thanks!

Christopher

I have 18x7.5 with 225/40/18s. I believe with +42 offset. Very minor rubbing in rear with passengers.
