New Mini owner ... few quick questions.

So I am now the PROUD owner of a 2004 Mini Cooper S .. typical supercharged 6 speed in Pure Silver. I live in Maine and even though I just got my car back on 8/23 and it's only 8/26 ... I am now starting to look for winter tires and rims. I read in another thread that the Honda 2002 Civic EX 15"s will fit ... here is my question on that. I have the 17" with 205/45/17's on them. Will the 15 inch Honda rims match up on my Cooper S without any issue?

Thanks to all and I hope to have some pics up soon (even though stock for now) of what she looks like and what she will become.

This is what I had read "For those who want to know, steel rims from a 2002 Honda Civic EX are the perfect size for the Mini. The size is 15x6 with a 4x100 bolt, offset 40~45mm, but there was no rubbing on my 2003 MCS with 205/50/15 size tires." .... still true for my 2004 S?

I'd think they'd be okay. As far as I know there's no wheel difference between the 03 and 04 unless you have JCW brakes.

It's funny you posted this, I was about to post a question asking this.

As long as you don't have the JCW brakes you should be fine to run a 15" wheel

It's a standard/stock Cooper S so it doesn't have the JCW brakes. 15 inch rims it is.
Thanks all.

Congrats PoppaDLo! I just got my 05MCS last month. One tip....Learn to watch the speedo! I hit triple digits on the highway often!

I need to remember that. I find myself looking at my tach and NOT the speedo. Even worse, I work as an officer in the Jail for our local Sheriff's office and am held at a higher accountability rate then non law enforcement. I don't want to have to go tell my Sgt. why I got pulled over and written up for speeding. Yea, not a good idea at all.

Because of this, I have a speedo readout on my scangauge II. Easier to see, right next to my tach.

Yes but you have to calibrate the scangauge speed reading to fit the tire diameter.

I think I just need to keep watch on my drive to and from work. It's only 9 miles one way on all back roads 35/45mph so as long as I go with traffic, I will be okay. Thanks all for chiming in though.
