I installed the LAMIN-X protective headlamp covers today on the Mini. I love the light blue tint on the headlamps. Has that HID look without the high price. Main purpose was to prevent headlamp cover pitting or possible cracking from errant stone/pebble. Here are some photos...

looks good. Does is affect the light colour at all? Is it legal in Cali? Do they make a set for the rears (you could put them on clear brakelight assembly for a "matching" look

I did the same with my IB/W MCS. The blue films match nicely with blue.

Have not tried them at night yet. Manufacturer claims it should make no difference. I have the Xenon HID's and love them. Will find out Monday morning since I leave for work very early.

$39.95 for the pair. Check out their website www.lamin-x.com/images/Header66.jpg here for all the details. I recommend the product. I think they look awesome on the car. The Xenon HID look and lens protection for under $40!

I wanted the Blue........However, it's illegal here in N.J. I went with the clear for the protection and really like the product.

Unlike the smoked tint cover, the blue tint isn't as obvious, but yet illuminates a nice tone of blue hue. Totally blends in with IB exterior. I can see why it stands out more with a white car.

Does wearing blue sunglasses at night do the same thing?

Happy to report no change in illumination from Xenon's during night driving. If you purchase them, install on a warm day and let the covers sit in the sun to warm up before installing. It makes the installation go smoother.
