R50/53 "Driving with sole"
There is a story in the Bergen Record (Bergen County, NJ.), front page of business section. Talks about the "next big thing," driving shoes. "shoemakers and sellers see the driving shoe as a perfect fit to meet growing demand for casual shoes that can pass as semi-dressy shoes." There is a photo of the MINI Motion $150.00 pair. Get em while they're hot.
I did get a pair of thin soled driving shoes... helps finding the pedal edges for heel and toe. Much better than a pair of dress shoes. Easier on the door panels even when I try to ease out of the car, at times k nick the door skins.
won't go back to hard soles in my MINI

I've got a pair of these for my driving shoes and I love them. (see link) They have a rather thin sole but still allow a lot of feeling for the pedals. The sole has a fairly modest design and it doesn't "grab" the pedals like some others do.

Birkenstaocks make excellent driving shoes.
Extremely comfortable, thin soled, and make for very easy for heel toe-ing.

I've been loving these for driving shoes. The soles look like performance tires...
