When I received my insider e-mail introducing the new limited edition MCS, it said "Rallye" in the subject line, but I chalked it up to an error in sending out the e-mails. Now on the homepage of the MINI USA site it has a picture of the car with the slogan "Let's Rallye." Is this an actual spelling error, or am I missing something here? Perhaps this is the European spelling or something. Anybody know about this? I'm just curious.
ral·lye [French rallye, from English 1rally] : an automobile competition using public roads and ordinary traffic rules with the object of maintaining a specified average speed between checkpoints over a route unknown to the participants until the start of the event.
Hope this helps. It's from Merriam-Webster. rally/rallye on
