M7 DFIC corroding, advice needed

Ok guys, I recently bought a used M7 DFIC (the standard polished version) and cleaned it up using Varsol. After letting it dry for a few days, I noticed some corrosion built up on it on the outside. I thought "No problem, doesn't hurt anything, just looks bad. I'll polish it up a bit, and it'll be good as new". Well, sadly I found out it got worse. Not only did it corrode on the outside, but on the inside as well, and there's a lot more in there than there is on the outside. I have searched Google and have yet to find anyone else, MINI Cooper affiliated or otherwise, who has a similar problem.

I doubt it's the Varsol that caused this. When I first got my MINI, I cleaned out the stock IC with Varsol and left it off the car for about a week and a half (Mind you it was in surgery for maintenance for that time) and it had never done this, in fact there wasn't a bit of corrosion on it when I was done.

I need advice on what to do for it. How can I remove the corrosion and keep it out of the IC? The only thing I can think of is to get the entire IC acid dipped and anodized, which will probably cost me an arm and a leg.

Thanks for any help,

MrNintend0

Have you contacted M7 Tuning and what was their response to the corrosion?

Did you notice any corrosion at all when you were first cleaning it? Post some pics if you can.
