Applying Banana Gloss on top of Epic: Time?

Hey, all--I've searched and found lots of references to people putting on one or two layers of Epic, followed by a layer or two of Banana Gloss. It seems clear that you have to wait 24 hours between layers of Epic. BUT... How long should you wait after applying a coat of Epic before applying the coat of BG?

Thanks!

Once the Epic has cured, 24-48hrs, you can apply BG, but I would use Hydro to dress the Epic after curing.

When your OCD kicks in, you can apply some BG every month, then do another Clay, polish, Epic in 6 months.

Just my way of thinking, others may have other ideas.

Don

It's a 24-48 hr wait before BG. You'll have great results btw! Love BG.

Thanks for the replies Don & NJ. Clearly the OCD is starting to kick in.

I put on a coat of Epic about 7 months ago and have been using Hydro after each wash. It definitely needed a reapplication of the Epic, and I've heard good things about BG, so figure I'll give it a shot and see how Horizon Blue looks.

Don, are you suggesting the order would be Epic, wait 24-48, Hydro, then BG? My thoughts were that since BG can last several weeks, while Hydro lasts only one, that you wouldn't want the BG on top of Hydro.

I figured it would be Epic, wait 24-48, BG, and then Hydro after every wash.

Thanks again!

You would only need one. You would apply Epic, wait for it to cure, then apply BG. I guess you could do hydro after that, but not the other way around (Hydro, then BG). I don't think the BG would adhear properly, if at all. You could just use hydro as a maitenance wax between BG applications.

Best bet is to ask Richard when it comes to Prima though.

Exactly my thoughts, NJ--thanks again for confirming the time's 24-48 hours whether you're applying a second coat of Epic or the first coat of BG!

Are you guys stripping off the epic (using dawn), then clay, then reapply epic? Or are you just using regular car soap, then clay, then epic? I'm at the 6 month mark and will need to reapply epic on my MCS.

Again, Richard would probably know best, but if you car is parked outside or exposed to the elements much, you may not have a lot of Epic left on the car after 6 months. I don't use dishwashing soap on the car at all, but that's just me personally, not to mention the clay is going to remove whatever you have on the surface. So, regular car soap, clay, then Epic.

I decided to skip the Epic and used Hydro Seal instead. Very easy to apply. I put a layer of Banana Gloss over the top and I LOVE the results.
