hey there fellow waiting for the ship to dock MINI owners! anybody else on the Orion Diamond? there seems to be quite a few other MINI's on the ship judging by the VIN #'s... one problem, i can't find the ship on any ship tracking web sites. oceanweather or accuweather, neither of them are tracking my ship..... i've got a call sign, i've got me booking numbers and voyage, just no ship...... anybody in the same boat as me?!? :smile:

when I was tracking our car, oceanweather would more often than not, not have our ship on it's maps. It would come and go, sometimes during the same day. Just keep looking is all I can recommend.

As I watch the Aida and my MINI, I keep looking for your ship too. They must not be participating with their weather reporters, so there's no ploting of your ships position.

That must really be frustrating.

It's sorta frustrating whatching how slow my ship (hey, me and the bank are buying a MINI, so I think the ship is mine!!!) move so slowly over the pond. It's suppose to be here in 8 days so today is day four and she's not 1/2 way yet....maybe the west side of the Atlantic is downhill!

I'm in Jersey and awaiting my MINIs arrival on the Aida in Bayonne, NJ

It was one of the last loaded, so I hope it's off and thru, then the quick hop to the dealer so that I can pick it up.

it seems like the ships were easier to track last year. we managed to catch our ship (TITUS) as it came across the Panama Canal via web cam, that was cool! have you noticed the History Channel playing more Bermuda Triangle and lost ship shows lately? is this a coincidence or conspiracy?!?

The Aida is right in the middle of the Atlantic and they've changed the arrival date in NJ to this Sat. 2/7.

Drats....that means that my MINI won't be here till almost mid Feb .... but we're getting closer!

MAN O MAN............. the phantom ship should have docked today.... it made the entire journey under the radar screen, i didn't see it once!!! last year was much easier when it came to waiting!! i wonder how long it will take at the VDC...
oh, how i hope to get me new MINI soon.......... *sigh*

In fact you are the only other person I have seen on any of the boards who was on the Orion Diamond. Anyway I called today and it said my car was at the port awaiting a vessel??? To where? I hope the "vessel" is a truck. For the last three weeks it was "en route", and listed on the WW tracking site as loaded on the Orion Diamond. I agree with you completely, it is the phantom ship. I think will call my MA at Eastbay Mini to get the scoop. Good luck on your end

I sure hope your ship has arrived, but I can report that the AIDA did arrive on sched and now my MINI, "Marty" is right now in my hands with a little over 300 miles already on him. I'm having a ball.

I sure hope your MINI is in your hands very, very soon.....

Unfortunately still no conclusive update. Supposedly the ship arrived on Feb 17. , However, none of the 160 minis have been "unloaded" . ASK MINI keeps saying my mini is at the port awaiting a shippping vessel, though it was en route for 4 weeks. I will call my MA again today to see if there is a new update. I was really hoping for this coming weekend. My MA was a bit vague on what was happening and only said it would be 7-10 days from the 17th. Perhaps all this "phantom" business is par for the course. Any updates on your end? Is this similiar to other mini experiences? Do the other 158 mini's on the Orion Diamond really exist?

 

My ship (Aida) did report, so I could track her right into port and when my MINI was off-loaded.

At that point, AskMINI became almost worthless and my MA was the best source of info. He had the details of it's movement thru the DC and onto the shipping truck to the dealership.

I can't say enough good things about my MA. He was great.

After reading all the 'horror stories' of un-informed MAs and bad customer service dealers, I'm delighted that I got my MINI at Otto's.

 

Thanks for info. Well it turns out my mini arrived at the dealer today! I cna pick it up Saturday. It is no longer a "Phantom". Now I just need to get a ride from Calistoga to East Bay.

 

I too needed a ride to the Dealer to pick my MINI up. Thank goodness for Mother-In- Laws.....I even got her to take a picture of me driving out the the dealer's delivery room!
