Which is the best headlight protection film in terms of installation, looks, and protection? Thank You.

I have Lamin-X, installed it myself, did a how-to w/pictures for installation and love the product. Wouldn't use anything else.

I have the Lamin-X . Fairly easy install. Very happy with the look and protection once all of the bubbles worked there way out.

im using autoclearguard.com headlight covers (Xpel) and Laminx yellow Fog
covers.

imho, the Xpel are cut by a professional quality stamp machine where the
Lamix looked like it was cut by someone with a scissors.

I just installed Lamin-X today. They're fairly easy to install. After installing the headlight film, I did have to trim off some access film around the border. Perhaps because it's hand-cut, like kenchan indicated.

I have had the Xpel covers, which are really the 3-M material, on Spiney Norman for six months now with no problems. If you don't know to look for the edges of them you never notice them. I feel they have already paid for themselves, as I have had rocks get kicked-up by trucks on the interstate and have had no cracks in the lamp covers - whish I could say the same for my windshield.

I wonder . . . has anyone ever thought to try putting the 3M Expel material on MINI windshields? Might it be too "soft" to stand up to windshield wiper swipes? Or might it distort too much to be safe? Or might there be legality issues ? ? ?

Interesting to ponder, Yes ???

probably won't work on the winsheilds as the film is, as you mentoined, soft.

It swirls if you rub the film with your fingers hard enough. After a few wipes
with your wipers, you will probably get noticable lines in your film making it
difficult to see through.

That's one thing you want to watch out for on these films. Don't rub it
with your fingers and use a squeegee when you mount. treat it as if
it's part of the paint on your car.

The kits are actually machine cut, but the cut-outs have to be separated from the roll. Minor incisions have to be made around the handling tab areas to release the cut-out. Unfortunately some might have gotten out that shouldn't have or at least cleaned up. If you have one of these uninstalled kits and not satisfied, let your vendor or us know and it will be replaced. Also, some kits may be oversized by 1/16-1/8" to accomdate for snapback and thorough coverage. Clear films can be undersized by a little, and not noticeable. Unfortunately that is not the same for colored films. Hope this clears up some info.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Today I had X-pel (clear bra) installed on my car at 305-motoring in Portland. The installer complimented on the blue light protection film I installed on the car. He did mentioned that 3M doesn't offer the color film. The film from Lamin-X is a quality product and more importantly, the service is excellent.

Lamin-x, the yellow fog covers were 2mm diameter too small for my foglamps
on the aerokit especially on the sides. The opening is a slight oval-shape.
You might want to consider checking that out for people with the aero bumper.

Lamin-x...do you do a coating for the factory driving lights? Maybe in a yellow film?
If so, what kind of money are we talking?

Thanx.

I agree, but not too obvious on mine. Perhaps because I have blue film on IB.

I also wanted to protect the driving (aux) light, so I ordered uncut color films. Lamin-X offers different sizes for different colors, you can choose accordingly.
