Getting ready for a brake fluid flush and change. How much fluid do I need? Also, should I change the clutch fluid at the same time? I'll be going from OEM fluid to Motul RBF 600. Thanks!

 

I sucked out most of the reservoir so I didn't have to dilute the new stuff too much, but I still needed the second can to get all the air out. I would buy two cans again since if the pedal doesn't feel right, you don't really have a choice but to use more. With that said, I think one can should do it, but it didn't for me.

 

One bottle will do it. If you haven't done it before, get two, just to be safe. Motul is a track fluid--it'll grab water more than standard fluid--so be prepared to change or bleed more often.

If you haven't done the clutch before, do yourself a favor and have the dealer do it, or do it with someone else who has done it before. Lot's of threads on here of clutch bleeds gone bad...

 

If your using a pressure bleeder ( http://store.motiveproducts.com/euro...-0100-p34.aspx ) then it will take 2 bottles of the RBF to do the brakes and the clutch. The clutch is much easier on the R56 then the R53. it's just a thumb tab that gets turned by hand.

 

Even with the Motive, you can do it with one bottle--you leave motive empty, fill the brake fluid resvoir, and pump the motive with air. You have to watch the brake resevoir closely, and you have to refill it--it's a pain, but it can be done (somebody else on here--might have been keith--suggested that, it works).

If you fill the motive, it will require two bottles, like you said.

 

Thanks for the info guys . Looks like it'll be 2qts. I'll have the pros do it as I don't have a clue how and don't like surprises when I hit the brakes! I know of the Motul's love of water and plan to change it twice as often from now on.

 

When I do it manually I can do it with just one quart.

 

I do brake flushes with two x 500ml bottles (approx one quart in total). I've never used a pressure bleeder
