A few questions for you all...

I have several questions that I hope you all can help me with.

The are concerning random different parts/pieces/features of my new [to me] mini.

1st: I have a little black box behind my rear view mirror. I assume that it is the rain sensor for the auto wipers. My mini did not come with an owners manual so I am not sure how to make this option work. Figured this one out thanks to WinnieMiniFW

2nd: I just recently replaced my a/c compressor and dryer so that I could have cold air again. During the tear down I found out that the wires to the outside air temp sensor had been cut and the sensor itself was missing. Now my auto a/c appears to work fine but will not having this sensor cause any issues?

3rd: my mini has the factory navigation. I was looking through the nav pdf and it seems like the nav and in car computer are linked to each other. I do not have a button on my blinker/light arm for the computer. Would this affect the navigation at all? My screen will not power on at all. My dvd unit appears ok. It spins and takes the disk. Just the screen doesn't come on.

I knew I had more questions but I cannot think of any more right now. I may add some later.

Thanks for any help.

Try this for your owner's manual...I can't really answer any questions you put up but I thought this might help in the future. Good Luck!

1. Yes, that's the rain sensor for rain sensing wipers.
2. I believe the temp gauge you are referring to is for the outside temperature thermometer.
3. The OBC and navi may be linked, but the navi itself is gets much information from the cars computer. The OBC is just a convenient place to pull up info such as range, mpg trip, mpg total, outside temp, speed, etc. The information displayed on the OBC, or lack there of in your case, should not affect the navigation.

The OBC is displayed on the Nav screen - with Nav you don't have the button on the stalk. Not sure how to troubleshoot whether the issue is the screen or the Nav unit itself.

Yeah I am probably going to give up on the nav and put a garmin or magelin in its place. Sell the screen and dvd drive. I have no way of trouble shooting without sinking money into parts I may not need.

I can't really help with your questions, but in addition to the link, you can also find the owner's manual in the owner's lounge at miniusa.com.

Good luck!
