R60 Crystal Silver w. Black Roof....Why is it the best?
I think it's your subconsious id being incredulous that you bought such a blah vehicle. But, then again, you live in Canada. Silver might be a whopee colour up there.

I think it's appreciation for the German design and competition heritage.
Or, it could be the purity of the untinted reveals the essence of the CM character.
Or, it could be the relief it's not PO.

True dat. Not everyone can handle PO.

Here are pics I posted previously.
Here's my reasoning for the combination I chose: My starting point was the roof. With the black pillars being a fixed point of reference, i.e. no color choice, I felt that a black roof was the logical choice in order to tie the top of the car together visually. (This, even though my "personal" preference in the heat of the summer is a white roof...)
Then I needed a color that gave a nice amount of contrast with the black top half. Playing with the configurator yielded white, yellow and silver as the most logical choices (although I've now seen Cosmic/Black, and dang....!
). But Silver won out as my personal preference.
The last details were tying out the various pieces to present a unified theme. Black wheels. Black mirrors. Black S stripes.
I added the ext chrome package for really only 2 details. The brushed aluminum roof rails (contrast on the black roof), and the chromed scoops under the front bumper, which broke up the large black mass in the front just a bit. Of course I had to change out the chrome ext mirrors which my dealer did before delivery.
From all comments so far, including the kid hanging out the order window at Wendys saying wow, WoW WOW, I think it all came together nicely. (He only thought I still needed tinting as the final touch...)
Anyhow, that's my thought process. Not sure it explains why it's "the best"...? Oh, and I can't stop looking at it either~

Not sure what you can't stop looking at, but sounds like you can't stop smoking something else. Peace, man.
Seriously, there's not really a bad color in the bunch and everyone of 'em has no trouble finding a loving home. We can rib each other on our difference, but we all made a good choice.
Sealy - Who says "Happy Motoring and Enjoy!"
It was easier for me to tell my MA what colors I didn't want...which was only 3, I might add. In the end, finding an existing car with my option choices made the decision....Clear Red it is.
I think the BMW designsprechen tells it all:
"mature and most respectable look"
"powerfully contoured engine compartment lid"
"muscular shoulder line"
"masculine character of the MINI Countryman"
"powerful stance"
"powerful Surf Blue"
BTW, I couldn't find a reference to Powerful PO anywhere.
(I didn't make this stuff up)

Really? Not sure how you got that. Don't smoke....anything. You?
.
I'm glad we're (with few exceptions) really enjoying our CM experiences - in addition to the chance to share and compare online.

Loooooong explanations, hanging out at the Wendy's drive through? Will admit, one should never assume. Mea culpa. I haven't smoked anything in years. No hard cider, either. Hard to belive, this clear headed and I still went for the Pure Red.
Rock on, dude.

My two Wendonians weren't so much admiring the Countryman as much as trying to figure out why this MINI Cooper looked so different from all the other ones they had seen. We seem to still be a mystery to the genral public.

Silver is the best and that's what I'll be ordering when they get the bench seat. Love you CM its sharp, the only difference mine will have is the I'll get the black wheels with the silver trim (forgot what they are called).
