Car lost power.
Car lost power.
Just rolled over 300 miles, was merging on to major road when car lurched really bad, basically lost power and then regained. Was using Nav at the time and a few seconds later the nav system rebooted and sat with the mini logo for a good 30 seconds or so. I did read here someone had this engine blip but anyone have it with nav/ connected rebooting. It was a little scary to be honest.
This type of malfunction is one that you need to document fully and get to the dealer ASAP. In doing what you described, there should have been all sort of fault codes thrown and you want the dealer to down load and determine the problem. Sounds like luck was on your side this time, maybe buy a lottery ticket to celebrate.

AS much as I LOVE the new countryman, it is for reasons like this that I wait out basically everything first gen. . .I hope the hiccup gets resolved at NO cost to you. Glad the incident was at not cost to you. Sketchy.
Bummer! I was hoping that my Countryman wasn't going to be afflicted with the same thing as my 2008 Clubman. First time I reported it (when I was in for an oil change), I was told that it was because I was low on oil. Then it did it on the way home (after just having my oil changed/topped off). Since then, they've been, "unable to reproduce it".
It affects me mostly when on on-ramps. I have to be careful not to give it too much throttle at one time when getting up to speed, or (9 times out of 10) it does the momentary hiccup thing.
Good luck!

Just sayin'
It has not happened since that first time. It was on an on ramp and i was about to hit reserve or had just hit. It did feel like fuel stavation to me. My MA did not seem overly concerned, just said if I was worried contact service. I do wonder if it was the fuel sloshing around, especially with going down hill onto the highway. It is interesting that other posts are also happening with on and off ramps. Starting to wonder about low fuel and angle of the car. The nav/connected might just have been a coincedence.
Well, I didn't expect to have this problem, but it happened to me today. I was accelerating down a right-turning ramp onto the expressway and I got two quick power cut-outs when almost at the end or the ramp. They each lasted a fraction of a second and felt about a second apart and there was no sound from the engine and no power when they happened. I was going about 55 when it happened.
I was a little distracted by the presence of other traffic so I didn't notice if any indication was showing on the displays at the time.
The fuel level was at 1/2 full at the time.

Fenton went in for his first official service today. I discussed the three separate occasions when I experienced this power interruption, and my SA said there is a service note about it recommending reprogramming the car. I'll submit it sometime next week (when I can get a loaner) to get this upgrade put in. Others on NAM have reported an improvement in operation with this upgrade, so there's some reason for hope...
