Wanting black wheels 205/40/18...

I'm leaning towards NM Eng. RSe07 18" Light Weight Wheel

These are like $280 each

Thinking about the Yokahama S.drive RFT's to go with them.

Any other ideas?

Is this for looks primarily. Because you do have to worry more about potholes with such a large diameter, and then tend to ride harsher.

I do like the look of the NM.

Thanks slinger, primarily for looks. Here's an update...
I just learned from the dealer that with the 18" NM's, they would have to install a $400 steering rack stop kit to keep the tires from rubbing. Not interested, as I want to retain my original turning radius. I have decided to use my original 205/45/17 tires and just get 17" wheels.

The two wheels I am considering are these:

ENKEI PF01

OZ Alleggerita HLT

My dealer, MINI of Tempe has quoted me $1,655 for the OZ wheels, mounted, balanced, installed, w/tax.

Not sure if a great deal. Looks like they are charging about $85 per wheel.

shoot at that price you could have tire rack mount/balance and install the TPMS and chose the tire of your choice

So you think for $1600 I can get the OZ wheels + new RFT tires installed, mounted and balanced? Which tires? Wouldn't Tire Rack just hook me up with a local install shop? Keep in mind that there is about $58 in shipping too. I'm worried about getting an average tire shop doing the install and damaging the finish.

I did not realize you wanted RFTs, but yea they have a tire/wheel set combo on their website, and when you're nearing checkout they have an option for your TPMS, I think it's about $209

I think most tire shops are very good about making sure they don't scratch your wheels, I was worried too with the challenge JCW wheels in black, I took it to a local place and they assured me they wouldn't scratch it and everything turned out great

don't know if you've already installed these yet, but after speaking with the guys at NM-Engineering (I'm currently looking at these wheels) they assure me that their wheels (and most aftermarket 18" ones) do NOT require the steering stop. The reason for this being that Mini OEM 18" wheels have at 52 offset--which oddly enough, is spec'd thusly because of Japan DOT regulations on street legal offsets.

I have the matte black jcw rims 205/40-18 with the Yokohama s drives and I'm considering selling my wheels. As far as I know they fit with no clearence issues and didn't need to install that steering rack stop for these rims. They ride great and handle amazing let me know if your intrested.
