Lowering Coilovers

As we all know, there isn't much for suspension mods yet. I have contacted AST Suspension for the possibility of getting some made custom! I am also in contact with an AST distributer(Speedware Motorsports, Redmond WA) to take the measurements for making the coilover system. Everything is looking great for getting them done( I am not willing to wait for the year or more for something to come to market).

Is there anyone else interested in getting in on this purchase to make it a group buy? This would reduce the overall cost in getting coilovers. I am willing to use my car a the guinea pig including the costs for the tear down for measurements.

Let me know.

Coilovers

I think I might be interested also though would like to know more about company

I was going to look at jcw suspension kit which i though would land in around 3 months

My criteria is I want to get a suspension mod that lowers car an inch or so , kills the excessive body lean but still has some intial compliance

I am very sensitive that suspension tuning is a fine art so I am a little unsure to be a test case

AST is one of the top manufactures for coilover systems. Here is the website so you can check them out if you like. http://www.ast-usa.com/index.php

AST already is making components for the Mini hardtops and convertibles. I am sure the will have a dialed in system for us due to there experience in the field.

1. Where did you order from?
2. How much?
3. Please post pics, give us a review, and let us know how much for the install.

Thanks......Matthew

Cobra Suspensions originally from Netherlands have make lowering springs for the countryman early March. I've got in contact with them several times, wanted to order directly from their headquarters in Netherlands and ship it to the states (since no one has it). Then; very nice of them to refer me to their US distributor which is B+G suspension, which they just got stock in last week. I'll will pick mines up today, will posted before and after pics after I install them. here are some of the links and pics you can look at.

The current installation fee alone I was quote $200. If anyone have referral off a less expensive place in LA. Please let me know.

mini countryman lowered stance!

Cobra Springs/ B+G Springs
1.6" front 1.5" rear

overall the springs are very stiff, but runs about the same compare to the stock especially on the stock 17" RUN Flats. First day on the run I almost had a headache driving back with the new springs I thought it was the springs. At the same time I had a buddy in the car with me and he said it feels softer (less bouncing) compare to stock.

OK, so I am thinking about it now,so I call the local Dealer. They call the Distributor and are told only the front or rear (can't remember) is here now and it will be 2 months till they get the other in (2wd only).
WTF?????? Still waiting on a price. Maybe I will just put this off for awhile.

We now have KW V3 coilovers for the Countryman. The V1 and V2's are not being made yet.
