R56 spoiler dimensions?

Hey all of you R56 owners out there, sorry to invade your side of the forum. I was sondering if anyone would be willing to measure the distance between the two outside bolts for the spoiler. I have an R53 and I am looking into retrofitting the R56 Aero spoiler (found here http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...r_spoiler.html) but I need this dimension before I buckle down and buy one. Also does any body know if there is a significant difference in the curvature of the rear hatch between the R53 and R56? Thanks for the help guys, Ill go back to my side of the forum now

Won't work. 56 spoilers are totally different compared to 53's. There are 3-4 bolts that hold the spoilers in place and there's no glue involved compared to the 53. For the second gen, it's pretty much plug and play when switching out spoilers unlike the 53's.

I understand how they both attach. If the outer most two studs on the 56 spoiler are the distance apart as the two studs on the 53 then my plan was going to be to cut lower center section off of the 56 spoiler and use the two outer most studs and the adhesive. Anybody feel like breaking out the tape measure for me?

Obviously you don't understand. The 56 wing is attached to a bottom plate that is the length of the hatch. Go back and look at the picture of the wing again. Do you see the black drip rail on the wing? That comes with it.

My suggestion would be to look into the Aero Spoiler for the 53. Parts for the 53 and 56 are not interchangeable.

No, I get it. If I did this I would cut the middle part, the part between the two ends, off and just atach it with the two end bolts and the adhesive.

R53mao knows what he’s talking about... I did the same when I custom made my spoiler...

He’s going to split the length and combine the two. I’ve made several spoilers for my R56.

I’m sorry R53mao, mine is attached but if you want, I can go to my shop and measure the distance on the stock spoiler I have left.

Let me know.

Mark
