Hey Guys. Wondering if there's any interest from your club to join Bluegrass MINIs and three other regional MINI clubs on our annual Bourbon Run. Details have not been finalized but the date is set for Saturday September 24th. This is an all day event where we drive the backroads of Kentucky and visit three Bourbon distilleries. If there's any interest please let me know because I'm getting t-shirts made for this event and each club will be represented on the shirt with their club logo's.
Starting location will be Frankfort, KY. I will have lodging setup in Frankfort so that anyone that wants to come in can get a deal. Last distillery tour will be Jim Beam and that is located in Clermont which is about 22 miles south of Louisville.
I'm interested but put me down as tenative for now. I will have to consult my calendar at home before I can confirm. Will let you know soon if I'm a definite.
Has anyone made a Google Map of the rally / tour plan?
Is this run just to the Distilleries? Any twisties....back roads?
What time will it end.. have to be back in Charlotte Sun morning.
I haven't made a route map yet but the landscaping in the relative area where the distilleries are don't provide much for twisties. Where I have lodging setup at, there a two nice roads near by. One is about a 15 mile stretch and the other is about 30-45 miles ending near a nice Winery. If you come down Friday, I'd be happy to take you on them.
The run will be kicking off at 8am with registration(FREE) and should end around 4-5 depending on which group you go with. I should have a write up with full details within a few days.
I'd also consider doing a Friday run to the winery I spoke of gauging the interest. Not sure on the times of their operations but they have a really good deli along with a nice tour.
This sounds like fun but just realized that this is the same weekend that MINI of Nashville is having their Homecoming event so I will have to pass on this one.
