No GIAC for 2002 Canadian Launch? Any ECU options?

I am new to posting on NAM.

Dropped my Mini off for at a GIAC dealer for a flash and came back later in the day to get that look meaning nothing had or could be done. I was told that it was an early 2002 (Canadian Launch) and wasn't capable of being flashed by GIAC.

Are there any ECU options for an "really" early 2002 non-S. I would like to avoid the SPrint booster if possible, as I will be adding a cam and exhaust in the near future.

I have a DDM works CAI on route so that may help with the dread power stuper off the start.

Thank you for any input

Icheck the webite only found MCS's. Do you tune MC and early "canadian" at that? If so how would you perform a remote tune?

it will tune MCs, the tool does both

you will download some software , then download your ecu and send me the file. I will modify and send back you will load that file on the tool then load into the car via OBDII port

we can do this on the dyno also

What cable do I need, total Cost, and what is the file size?
I use mac but can get a PC laptop on loan.

Have you tuned a really early 2002 before? Dumb question but I have to ask now that I know my MC is special needs

I'm curious about numbers for this too, I'm thinking about getting a Megan cat-back on my '06 R50 and I'm wondering if a remote tune is worthwhile for me. I have an aFe CAI as well. If you can PM me with any price estimates or advice, that would be great.

RMW is the ecu tune option for early 02 Mini Cooper

GIAC dealer handed me my keys with no comment but good luck

RMW went the extra mile to get a setting file made for mine and helped me get a superior running r50! ---->

or

stutter start ---> chirpy chirp, waaaah

Ecu tune is the best single mod IMHO

I feel much more confident that sinking $$ into my r50 is a good investment and not a gamble

Thanks to RMW!

Early 2002 strikes again

My special needs ECU has struck again, it is giving a DTC Code P1485. I can't find that code anywhere.

Anyone have a clue what the definition is?

Still haven't found an existing definition for a DTC code P1485 my ecu is giving.

Now looking at the codes generated by the ecu tool I have found that there is a tag: MINI DDE 4.0 which matches a tag supposedly from a Mini 1.4 Diesel Bosch K-Line ECM?
