Traffic Alert - I81 South Closed at Exit 29 in Virginia

Note we're en route down and are off I81 southbound in Virgina due to closure at exit 29. Reportedly a tornado hit the truck stop there AFTER there was a tractor trailer accident that shut down I81 in both directions around midnight Wednesday/ early Thursday April 29, 2011.

We're off at exit 32, trying to make our way around... thank goodness for the air card/USB dongle to get some service for planning and google maps... We planned to be in for the Welcome Dinner, but have been delayed and delayed by various things... we'll be glad to see the Dragon and Fontana soon.

Be careful out there!

Though I’m not going that way, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I think most people that are going to need this info won’t get it. It’s us still sitting at home that know about it now...lol.

Have fun... I’m coming Friday.

"Tractor Trailer Accident" That is putting it lightly. More like flying Tractor Trailer Accidents.

It was a like a war zone there.

I saw the unbelievable swath of destruction through that area on my way home today on I-81. There was a big traffic back-up caused by all the thoroughly justifiable rubbernecking!

Though that is a pet peeve of mine (among 984 others), that may actually be justifiable...lol.

Just hope no one got hurt.

We passed it about 11:30 no backup yet but I could see that it was slowing. The only backup we got stuck in was at the mixing bowl-squeeze where 270 meets the beltway.
