After 440 miles of brand new Mini it is time to join YELLOW engine light club :(
Hello there...
some of You may know me already from this thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...know-asap.html
....well, this morning while driving to work, I stop to BMW dealer to return oil filter they sold me (wrong one)... and when I got back to my car, there it was... A YELLOW ENGINE LIGHT !!!!
Nothing else.. just the light, after I started engine.
so, I just drove it to work without stressing myself. Car runs just fine. I have no time to waste on trip to dealer 2 hrs away.. around 100 miles away..
I did finally call dealer in Chicago as well as the one from Madison WI.. I could have it towed but I need car to drive... Guy from Mini in Chicago told me that it might be nothing serious.. if everything runs just fine then drive it till monday, when I could bring it in.. (my day off)..
Kinda sucks it happened only after 440 miles.. (60 miles when I bought this car, then I put another 250 on trip from Madison.. and maybe little over 100 miles here in my town.. ).. thursday would be one week..
The only thing I did wrong was letting the car stall cause I forgot it was manual
duh.. it happened right after I start my car and let the clutch go in first gear with break ON.. duh..
any suggestions.. WELCOME!

The only help you'll get is if you know the exact CEL fault code. I wouldn't stir up another thread about this anyway. If you're under warranty the dealer will take care of you well. There are already too many threads on NAM like this where people are playing "Guess the Unknown CEL Code," that really have no point, especially when you're under warranty still.
ok.. car got fixed...
Fault Code: 321D Fuel tank ventilation system and purge air system, micro-leak: Leak greater than 0.5mm.
Performed test plan and smoke test.
Found oring on snap connector for carbon canister leaking.
Removed snap fitting and found oring out of place.
Lubricated oring and reinstalled.
Diag code: D1330-B0000000-01-326
No more leaks
yay
Now, is there a place I can easily find these codes online?
Thanks..

all they say that there was O-ring which was bended from the time the car was put together.. and it had to be reinstalled correctly and there is no more leak.. I guess thats the easiest way they explain it to me.
The o-ring was allowing air to enter the fuel evaporative system. The evap system is supposed to run at a specific vacuum level, so an air leak throws things off.
You'd get a similar CEL condition if you didn't properly fasten your gas cap.
