Rear-ended '08 Clubman S...

A few weeks ago, I had some doofus pull out right in front of me (his lane was stopped, mine was not). In the ensuing dodge, I took the front passenger tire up on the curb and successfully destroyed it, the strut, and a few other components.

Got it back last Tuesday, and come Thursday I was rear-ended on the SAME FRIGGIN' ROAD!

I came away with no injuries, no whiplash to speak of (at least not yet), and was able to limp the car home, but the back end is a mess, and the driver's seat is all wonky.

At this point...I'm wondering if it'll be totaled out. Ordinarily I'd guess not, but the back end of the Clubbie is a very complicated area, and those doors tie into the rear pillars and roof, not just the bumper/crossmember area. That and the fact that the car's three years old and vaguely closing in on 50K...

Honestly, I'm kind of hoping it gets totaled. Those doors are fickle things, and I can't imagine any way that even a perfect repair wouldn't leave them even more fickle than ever. That and...being so close to the warranty being up, and considering that the poor car's been in and our of the shop so frequently since the dealer opened up here in Austin (four major repair issues in the last year, two minor), I'm not too keen on holding onto her once the warranty expires.

Wow,I feel for you, a string of bad luck. I had something similiar in my Audi tt.It was never right after the repairs so I decided to sell it.Might be a wise thing for you.Your right it will probably never be the way it was.

This is not good! I feel for you. If it is fixed, make sure you fight for "diminished value" as the car is now worth less than it was before the accident.

Always sad to see a mini or any other loved vehicle for that matter down.

Heal up quickly... and the car bit will sort itself out eventually Keep your chin up!

Looks like a lot of these rear-ended Clubbies wind up whacked in the barn doors, right over the bumper! Doesn't seem like the bumper helps much.

Doesn't help that the bumper is lower than the ground clearance of most modern family sedans!

Glad you're okay, but are you SURE your neck doesn't hurt?

That looks pretty rough. I'm unusually paranoid, but I never drive the road I crashed my motorcycle on anymore. Bad luck!!

Hurts me a little extra -- same color as the '11 I just got in January!
