I have a DINAN on mine, and love it. Friend has a REMUS on hers, and it sounds excellent.

Of the similar choices you gave, the magnaflow is great too.

invidia

I have an Invidia cat-back. I'm very satisfied with it. Quite idle, nice deep sound on accel., very little(if any) drone at highway speeds. It connects directly to DP, eliminating the secondary CAT. It also requires no cutting of stock system like many others. Very easy to put back stock exhaust back on if necessary.

I have a 2011 MCS and I went with the NM exhaust. I really, really like the way it sounds. Its not too loud and "Brappy" like some others can be. It has a sweety pop and burble as you shift gears and roll off the throttle.

I dont have any real drone unless im in 6th gear and start up a grade and my speed drops below 60 MPH. My wife and 12 year old have never complained, even when they sit in the back seat.

If I had it to over I would still get the NM, but I hear the Invidia Q300 is really good too and offers a llittle bigger tube diameter.

I have heard the Magna and Alta are super loud and can be obnoxious, but I guess that depends on your age and what you like

NM was my first choice but when i was in the market none were available until 2 weeks out.

I originally got the borla and what a mistake, i sold it on here successfully because it sounded good if your younger and love the deep sound but it just wasnt for me.

Invidia i got because of the diameter and the fact that its a fit to the downpipe.

I chose Alta for the 3" diameter pipes - breathing, not sound. Hooking it up to a Garrett was a problem as the downpipe is designed for the OEM turbo. Got it all put together and drove it to my local muffler shop for fine tuning. As expected, they bad-mouthed the kit and said they could have built the same system for a lot less money (never gave me a quote tho).

As a result, I have for sale an unused downpipe with one cat conv designed for the factory turbo, complete with separate adapter and clamp for stock-size exhaust cat-back pipe. If you want to stimulate your local economy (muffler shop), I'll work with you on pricing this downpipe.

Before you decide anything, I suggest you check your local shops. They just might be able to give you good sounds and performance for a reasonable price.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my....

I love how nobody mentions getting one made by a local custom exhaust shop. You can get the same quality but NOT for $800-900 like some of these other brands. Why pay $900 for a soundmaker when a local talent can do it for usually around $400?!?!?!

to a certain extent,

I doubt someone will have stainless in stock, and at that good stainless steel is expensive.

My buddy Step on here does great work , hes a mini tech and has frankenseined my exhaust. Might be switching to a factory jcw boxw/invidia piping soon.

Dude, I started playing this, and then tabbed back over to the forums. When that Helo flew over, I was like WTH did he put on that MINI (not knowing you were way at the end of the street and I wasn't hearing you). Had to tab back into the video before I realized it.

Sounds good, though.

Claud,

I've had my NM cat back for over 3000 miles and i can tell u that mine did get a tad louder on the highway. BUT.....the around town pop and burble is soo amazing, its worth it.

You will turn heads!

I have the Borla and am extremely pleased. It can get a little loud at times, particularly when at like 3K, but it's not a whiny sound like you hear on a civic. It has a very deep tone all throughout acceleration, which is what I love about it. It depends on what you want really. I like that it is loud. When I drive, I want people to hear me coming and turn their head.

Is your Borla the "touring" model? That was my second choice. I've seen posts of Borla owners complaining about it being too loud, but it must be the other model.

Honestly I'm not 100 percent sure. It is rather loud, but I knew it was going to be loud going in. I like that it's loud though. The biggest thing for me was that I didn't want it to sound like a civic. She's loud, but she always has a deep tone so I'm 100% ok with it.

I really like the look and sound of the NM exhaust, but I have reservations about the 60mm (2.36 inch) piping...

I have the NM and love it. I also love the Remus, had I known about it before I bought the NM it would have been a hard choice.

if you eliminate the second cat with a catback bolt on, does it throw CEL codes?
