wheel size/clearance question
wheel size/clearance question
Just wondering if it was possible to fit 16in wheels over JCW breaks? I have a 2006 MCS JCW with 17in wheels and was thinking of getting some track wheels and was wondering if I could use a 16in wheels to save a small amount of weight and some cost also.
Yes, offset makes the difference. Stay around 36-38 et for most designs out there and you should be fine. You want at least 3-5mm clearance....42 et would be getting really close I think depending on the design of the wheel.
Never had track tires, but street tire wise, I ran both 195/55/16 Grids and 205/50/16 Nitto's for street....I liked the latter set up better for ride, handling/performance ect.

Im looking at getting some OZ's that are 16X7 so I would put a 205/40/16 on them?? or something close to that? I believe the et is 37 and a 14.1 weight... Just dont want to buy them and have them not fit...
wheel size/clearance question
My car has the JCW suspension and brakes and I have no issues with clearance.
I'm running 205/50/16's on 16x7 Enkei RPF1's 43 offset 13.8 lbs.
Hope this helps...
