Velvet Silver - sightings, owners??

About to pull the trigger on my custom order for a 2011 MC hardtop. Got everything nailed but body color. With that dark glass sunroof, I want a black top. For the body I have wrestled with
  • White Silver
  • Spice Orange
  • Velvet Silver
The first two I have seen in person. But Velvet Silver I have only seen on-line, and in a 6x8" color sample hanging on the wall at the dealer. I like what the sample looks like (the computer image out of the configurator isn't anything like it). But I noted that when I see the smaller sample of White Silver, it looks mostly white, but when I see a full car in white silver, it is much more silver looking (which I prefer).

There is one owner who posted some photos over at mini2.com, and raved about the color. That is about the only photos showing up on a Google search.

WS/Black is rather classic. I could add black stripes or other black graphics and it would look great. Up here in the snowy north, road salt wouldn't show so much in the winter. Anything would go with this color.

OS/Black is rather bold. Easy to see on the highway. Would show salt just like my current dark red Acura TL. Black graphics would look sharp, but there would be colors (like some badges) that would look rather awful.

VS/Black seems like it would be pretty classy looking. That partly appeals to me (I am an empty nester finally getting a car where I don't give a damn about the back seat space). I think black graphics would look good, but would look more out of place on this color? Oh, and being brand new in March, there would not be a lot of them out there.

I know that color is very much a subjective personal preference. Interested in any sitings of them - with and without graphics. Anyone out there own one yet? Stunning or an acquired taste?

I just bought a velvet silver convertible. Personally I love it. I didn't order mine, just bought it from dealer stock, but had I ordered it, velvet silver is the color I would have picked. It's basically a medium dark metallic gray/silver. With black hood stripes, I think it looks very classy. I think black in general looks great against it. I'm not one for flashy or blingy colors and this is perfect for me. I just got it Wednesday and haven't gotten around to taking pics yet but I'll see if I can snap some this weekend with my crappy iphone camera. Quality probably won't be very good though.

I just built a MCC online and I am definitely going to go with the Velvet Silver. It's a nice color and there aren't too many around. Hopefully I can place the order next week.
