Help With Bluetooth and Evo Phone

I have a 2011 MCS with Bluetooth and an HTC Evo phone. I was successful in pairing the phone and it worked great for a few weeks. Now the phone and the car aren't recognizing each other and connecting. Any suggestions?

I have an HTC Evo 4g and I just reconnected using the owners manual. No problem since.

I got it to work tonight, although I am not quite sure what I did to accomplish it. I'd like to know what caused the disruption. I have comfort access and my wife drove the car the other day. She rarely drives it and I noticed all my presets on the radio were messed up again when I drove it after her, so I wonder if that also affected my Bluetooth performance. The other possiblity is we finally got around to setting up the Bluetooth and phone pairing in her CX-9. I paired her two phones to the Mazda and also paired mine. I am wondering if pairing my phone with another vehicle caused an issue with the connectivity in my MINI. So, not sure if either of those two things contributed, or if it was a random incident.

I would say random incident. I have lost the ability a couple of times to have the phone connect. I just delete the pairing and repair and it works fine.

The reason you probably found the radio stations preset change is because the key fob holds that info so each person can have a different settings when they get in the car. Read the manual for more info on how this works.

Thanks. Yes, the radio was/is not a mystery. I fully understand the Comfort Access key fob situation. In fact that even happens if my wife has her fob in her purse and unlocks the passenger side door before I get a chance to hit the unlock on the drivers side. I was more curious as to the bluetooth / phone connectivity issue.

When you paired the phone the first time did you set the phone to automatically pair when the phone is seen?

I don't recall if I did that. Any tips on how to do that now?

I believe it is a question when you intially pair your device.

My Incredible did this A LOT. It was sooo annoying. My Thunderbolt does this but its rare now.

On the Incredible the device for the car would not show up in the BT list on the phone. I normally ended up unparing via the cars BT settings then power cycle the phone then re-pairing. Its a pain I know...

My evo 4g does this all the time.

It pairs for 5 seconds and then just disconnects. But the car still shows the phone is connected. I've deleted and repaired the device. I've checked the box to automaticially pair. Nothing has worked.

I'm rooted but still on stock rom so everything is normal. This should work. I'm actually quite annoyed at this.

I know i'm a little late to the thread...

My EVO was doing this back in Nov, disconnect after a few minutes and I would have to manually re-pair the phone for it not to disconnect. Unfortunately, it would the exact same thing the next time I start the car.

Long story short, I was also getting random rebooting of the phone. 3 trips to the Sprint store for diagnostic and hard reset later, turns out one of the PCBs was short circuiting.

Got a new phone and it hasn't happened since. In short, if you're also getting reboots, back up everything immediately.

Okay must be something.

I haven't tried pairing up the evo since January because it kept failing (plus I don't talk much on the phone while in the car).

I tried again last night for the heck of it and it WORKS!! Go figure, I haven't done anything either to the phone or car.

So strange. Now I have my car dock auto turn on bluetooth and it connects. So weird. It's worked last night and this morning no problem. The only thing is if I get a call, I have to remember to answer with the steering wheel button or else it will turn on speaker phone to the phone.
