I´m about to order my 4th mini. And I never owned a red one. But now im so confused if I should go for Ice blue with body colored roof or if i should go fore the moore safe option to get chili red with body colored roof.

I´ve never seen ice blue IRL. Anyone who have and can tell me if its cool or just ugly?
Im thinking about ice blue with, black wheels and black headlights.

opinions?

 

Why is red "safer" than blue?

I've seen both, and I like the Ice Blue a lot, but that's just my opinion. YMMV

There are a lot of Chili Red's around, do you want to be one of the crowd or different?

ice blue is ok, I see this one at my dealer all the time it never really
caught my eye because I thought it was kind of a girl color IMO

But seriously, what ever color you pick go off what you like not someone else. People thought I was nuts picking BRG/White, then they saw it after tint the roof was done....

 

I LOVE Ice Blue. If I had to buy a MINI today it's what I would choose!

I'm not a fan of ice blue, and every time I see a mini in chili red/black with black wheels or chili red/white with white wheels, I always wish that was the color of my car.

 

For what its worth - probably not much - ice blue does nothing for me.

 

It doesn't take a committee to choose Pepper White.

Back on track...I just bought an 09 Chili Red but I like red. Red is flashy, Ice Blue not as flashy. I like both but Eclipse Gray is my favorite. Do what you can see yourself driving!

 

I saw Ice Blue for the first time at the Denver Auto Show the other weekend and wasn't impressed. I had to look at the sticker because I said to my wife, "What the hell color is this?!?" It looked kinda like a Robin egg.

It makes you wonder why the hell they got rid of Mellow Yellow but have that color?

 

Go with Ice Blue if you like (love!) the Retro feel and look of it! A Robin's egg is close, BUT the color changes with the light.
AND ya' save $500 for it not being metallic!). I just bought mine and couldn't be more pleased.
Each day ... it is just a great pleasure to drive her.

 

It is COOL Freddo, definitely COOL! I have a British Racing Green (love it!), had a Pepper White with Black roof/mirrors, (it was "okay" but I sold it for a Jet Black 2010 BMW 328 xi.). THEN I sold the BMW a year later and went back to Mini - which is the Retro COOL Ice Blue. Greatest ever. ... Ever.

 

There was an Ice Blue/ Black with black wheels and headlights when I picked up Mozart a few weeks ago. It was very cool and smooth looking. I really liked it. I thought it would look really cool with some silver or grey graphics.

This post is from the Show Pictures of your R55 (Clubman) thread. Makes a great case for Ice Blue.

 

It's because they're becoming more and more a BMW. Colors available for a 328i are Montego Blue, Le Mans Blue, Deep Sea Blue, Blue Water, 4 blues.


Edit: Also that clubman does look pretty good! I wouldn't drive it but it looks nice.

 

The Chile Red definately has a little attitude.
