Carbotech full ceramic or has metal?

If anyone has a set of carbotechs (especially bobcats) they haven't installed yet can you do me a favor? See if a magnet sticks to the pads.

I have a new set of bobcats. I was under the impression they are supposed to be full ceramic however a magnet sticks strongly to the pad itself - not the backing plate. Obviously if they are full ceramic a magnet should not stick to them.

edit: www.ctbrakes.com says they are made of a ceramic and metal compound. Would still appreciate a magnet test if anyone has a set handy.

Got an email back from carbotech and they said a magnet would stick to the friction material.

Please let us know how they perform and how you like them and if they are low dusting and if dust is lighter in color.

My lease is ending on my JCW and I have an S model coming in to replace it. With the 0.9% interest MINI is offering right now I plan on buying it. Since I'll own instead of lease I can really go nuts on the mods if I want.

Here's a link to the build: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...22-post14.html

MM, I tried the magnet test last year on the 1521, the xp10 and the xp12 and they all stick.

Thanks for the confirmation slinger.

Biggripper - how do you like the adaptive xenons? Can you really notice them turning left and right? I'm getting them and I'm curious if they make a noticable difference.
