I cant find the USP port location. I got a light that came on today and want to hook up my apple cable to my iPhone 4 to use the MINI Connect and see what the issue is but I cant seem to find the location on where to plug it in.
Any help would be great!
Car in question is a 2007 MCS

Thanks a bunch guys!

Not all 2007's have the usb port option. If it's there is should be next to the aux port. More info here:

Look under the passenger window toggle switch. My 2009 had a sliding 'door' that covered the USB port which I guess could make it difficult to spot (not to mention a pain to actually plug something into, until you get the hang of it). It is positioned vertically, not horizontally - if that helps.

My 2011 port is located in the same location, but no sliding door to cover it.

Nothing there! I could care less about the ipod playing through the radio with the ipod cable...I just want to run the Mini connect. Anyone know if I can buy the port from the dealer and just swap out the AUX part with the one that has both?
Thanks for the help in advance!

I guess I'm confused as to what you're trying to do. Mini Connected is only available on the 2011 MINIs so if you have a 2007 you don't have it. It sounds like you're trying to hook up your iPhone to diagnose an error code, but as far as I know there isn't an app that can do that over USB to an iPhone. It'll require something plugged into the ODBII port to read/clear the engine code.

As Chimera said you CANT have MINI Connected as you car is a 2007 model. Also of note is that early 2007 cars before about June builds also can not have a USB port at all as it is not supported by the radio hardware. So check the build date on the drives door jam and see what month it was built to see if you can even have the USB installed.

As for MINI Connected it also can not tell you anything about the code you are looking for you need a reader off the ODBII port for that.
