R55 Hamption edition Clubman
Hamption edition Clubman
Hey everyone, so I just got this email from MINIUSA announcing the premier of the 2011 special edition Mini Clubman Hampton-thought I'd share

Personally, I'm not crazy about the wheels, but I do like the color combos and design style. What do you guys think? My favorite special edition so far has been the Camden Edt Cooper.

I have been considering this over the Countryman. I want to keep the "mini" handling but need a bigger car than the coupe. I did a build on the MINI website and I'm really liking my configuration. I am going with the non-S for better gas mileage. I wonder if I can also get the 0.9% interest they are offering during march and a free Premium pkg. Wishful thinking but going to check on that tomorrow.

The interior looks rather nice with that color combination, but I the Hampton logo doesn't look convincing... it reminds me of those ribbons that kids get when they get first prize at the science fair
The exterior color combo also looks kinda weird, but it could be the photographs so I'm guessing it looks much better in person. I would suggest you get the S Bullydog because the gas mileage difference is not much, and the black S grille will match better with the black headlight housing.

I love it. Blue/Red are just amazing color combos (note: your flyer shows the combo I don't think those that order this edition should go for: do the reef blue with black rims!). love every bit of bit. well, not the price!
Indeed, this one and the Camden editions are awesome Clubbies... saw a camden in person, loved it.

I do like the rest of the Hampton setup. I think you are right about the S grill looking better than the non-S but I also am considering the long term reliability of the engine. These boards fill up with S model engine problems, even brand new cars. I love MINI and BMW; nothing else handles like their cars but they need to work on their engine & clutch reliability, especially the turbo models. I also own a 135i coupe and love the car but keep wondering where I'm gonna' be when the HPFP goes...yes, it's under warranty but that wont help me when I am up in the mountains driving on Skyline Drive. I love the reef blue and was bummed when I saw the color option at the dealer after I had just ordered my MCS in Horizon Blue. Then I saw it was only for the clubbie so no loss for me. Plus, once again, MINI feels the need to put red with everything. It is pretty, though, just not for me with all the red.
(Nothing against red, if I want red I'll get a red car, but don't want to have red if I don't want it) If they would replace the red with lime green that would be interesting

I am loving this edition, anyone have any idea what kind of discounts from MSRP could be had on an ordered one?

That...doesn't look red.
It's kinda lightish red...but they already have a word for lightish red....PINK.
Can't really say I like it. The whatever color it is just doesn't look like it mixes well with the blue. It'd probably look a lot better on black.
