I'm driving home from work today and I hear the gong and the brake like comes on and stays yellow then a few seconds later the the stability control light comes on and stays yellow as well. Anyone have any ideas what this is all about?

If it were me, I'd head straight to the closest MINI Dealer. If you are still under warranty it's their problem to deal with. If it's not under warranty they can probably tell you what it is and how urgent it might be to deal with.

Just in time for the "free" brake-job, 36k miles.

This morning lights were cleared out when I started the car, I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning to see whats going on. Car is driving fine brakes work so I hope its something that's covered by the warranty and not major.

This happened intermittently to me a few weeks ago. It turned out to be a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor.

The MINI is very perceptive.... when the MINI sees that you are texting while driving the BRAKE light comes on to tell you to stop the car.....the anti-clockwise arrow surrounding the triangle means "respond to the text later or you will pretty soon be toast!"

Are you sure your a MINI driver and not a SUV driver in training? Or maybe you're a recovering SUV driver possibly?

So I dropped it off at the dealership this morning and got me a clubman loaner, pretty sweet. They are going to check the brakes, brake sensors and then they told me it could be that the car needs a "software update". So its all under warranty. Ill let everyone know the outcome.

P.S. I was not texting while driving I have tried before but with a 6spd it is impossible, having to deal with the shifter and the phone

Although the brake warning lights cleared upon restart, my check engine light came on last night when I started the car, and won't clear.

This can't be coincidence. I guess I'll be calling the dealer.

i think the computer cache's codes which will either leave the light on until you fix it, or it could potentially go off after a few hundred miles...like when you get a Seafoam CEL
