You should do a search for this question. There must be a dozen or more threads that address this exact issue.

I have this system and I really like it. It is throaty and gives it a nice solid sound. You will have to cut your stock exhaust though. I mated it to a riss racing DP and it sounds brilliant!

sweet, thank you for your feedback. I'm guessing the resonator will have to come off? is it just a bolt on? i'm having a shop put it on for me and i don't want to get ripped off on the total job (putting it on)...i heard it's a simple bolt on. You think $100 is enough?

Yeah, the stock exhaust will be cut behind the cat, which removes the resonator. The magnaflow just clamps on right behind the cat. I installed it myself in around 30 minutes. not a bad job at all.

I am installing a custom setup similar to this setup. I am eliminating the Second Cat and resonator. I am running 2.5" pipe to a Magnaflow Muffler. I am hoping to have it completed by this weekend. I will post my findings...

Bad Mini what size tips are those? I am getting 3.5" tips and am unsure they will fit in the gap....

Had one installed 10 days ago, sounds good. I do get a hint of "drone" when I hit 70 @ 3000 RPM. I looked at other kits (Miltek etc) but heard horror stories about fitment. Magnaflow is a well known company with excellent quality control, installed in about 30 minutes. And if you do get drone (subjective) you could always add a resonator.

minimota: i agree with you. That's why i'm getting the magnaflow. They are very well known and they have a lot of engineering that goes behind their products. I'm getting it installed tomorrow or Wednesday so i'll post before and after videos/pics.

I've been posting this video a lot, but here is that exhaust with the RR downpipe

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LtpX9j2JXI

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaizPeh0D4s

video quality isn't great, but you get the idea.
The only complaint I had was the new exhaust smell :P but that's expected with every exhaust...

Did you shoot that in Hawaii? I enjoyed the smell of burning oils off of the exhaust, it's like a new car again.

I'm interested in getting an exhaust like this.. This isn't downpipe back right?

Does anyone have under car shots? Where can I order?

Badmini: maybe you could help install? We have the same color car, I live in parsippany, and have a Riss racing DP sitting around... Lmk!

I too have a Riss downpipe mated to DDM Works that has a Magnaflow muffler. A very deep throaty sound can be expected.

To be honest, theres a good chance its going to drone.
Minimota, report back in a few thousand miles, I want to see if you think its any worse.
At first mine didn't drone, but once the heat cycles pack down the material within the muffler/resonator, it becomes much more straight through of exhaust flow, and @ 2.5" you'll prob start to get more drone. Its unfortunate, and terrible for highway trips with a gf in the car, but you'll learn to modulate the throttle enough that unless you're heading up a big hill, you can usually keep it pretty quiet.

On a positive note, its definitely one of the best sounding setups for the MINI imo that i've heard. Great attention getter too if those are your intentions.

I'm running a 2.5" pipe from the DP back, magnaflow 20" x 4" round straight stainless steel muffler (resonator) in the same location the JCW has it, followed by magnaflow single 2.5" center inlet, dual 2.25" outlet, 24" 5x8 oval stainless steel muffler, to two 4" stainless magnaflow tips.
