Picked the Countryman up yesterday...

All:

Wife & I flew up to Portland yesterday and picked up the car at Rasmussen Mini. Pics...

Went straight to Les Schwab Tire & had snow tires put on...

Then drove it home 260 miles!

Off she went this morning...

Album can be found here;

First impressions: This thing is huge! Comfortable, very quiet and definitely going to suit us better than the '04 MCS we had previously. However, the radio controls suck,a and I am not a big fan of the push button ignition.

Pity they didn't offer the heated windshield in the US, and all the other colors suck, but I think it looks great in silver. Overall, a great little car!

To all of you who are waiting patiently- it's worth it!

Cheers,

Paul.

Thanks! We considered going blue/white again, but didn't like the shades of blue offered. Plus, that's what we had last time;

Cheers,

Paul.

You chose a nice set of winter rims.

How has your winter been this year?

What wheels did you go with for snow tires? Did you get them locally?

Very nice. We ordered ours from Rasmussen a couple of weeks ago, so we're looking forward to a similar trip this spring. Who was your MA?

All:

Larry Larson was our MA at Rasmussen. I highly recommend him. As for rims, we went to the nearest Les Schwab & had them put generic aftermarket BMW 3-series rims on. They fit fine and look okay. We needed them too- bunch of snow this morning. We had a lot of snow early this winter- very glad I have the LR.

I'm taking the C to work tomorrow (haven't driven it yet!) so I'll post my thoughts. Definitely not impressed with the keyless ignition- hopefully I'll get used to it!

Cheers,

Paul.

What's wrong with the keyless ignition?

Took a minute to get used to it in the BMW. I remember cursing when the vehile would not start. Checked everything and could not figure why there was no response from the car. Totally POd - then felt like an idiot when I realized that I really wasn't paying attention. No matter how hard you push the temperature control ****, the car ain't going to start.

Been mostly fine since.

Love the stance of the car in the snow - just looks real solid. Congrats!

Awesome body colors. That is what we just ordered but with silver rims and no bonnet stripes. That is one classy looking vehicle. Good Luck with her !!!

Great looking Countryman! Love the second shot with the car driving down the snowy road. Wonderful perspective.

Beautiful! Love your after-market winter wheels too. What tires did you end up with?

Tires are Pirelli Sottozeros. Available to those of you in the Pacific Northwest at Les Schwab Tire.
