Got a '04 Cooper with stock 15" White Holeys and tires and want to upgrade to a 17" combo. VERY limited funds. What are my options? Would like something in silver or chrome.

Check your local craigslist. You might be surprised at what you can find~

 

You can get some tire/wheel packages on the used market here in the NAM marketplace. I have bought a set just recently for under the budget amount you mentioned.

You can also try eBay. I never really had great luck there but many people still buy and sell there.

 

Just bought a really nice 17" wheel and tire set, used, for $700 off the NAM market place...they are out there, you just have to keep your eye out for them. Try for some of the Mini "taken offs" wheels. There are some really sharp looking 17" Mini wheels and they tend to be less expensive than the aftermarket ones. Even the ones with the Runflats; buy them, use them until they wear out. Generally they are even lower price. I didn't mind them on my mini.
