Exterior Mirror Driver's Side Adjustment Issue

My wife and I are loving the ALL4 (two weeks now). I am finding the driver's side exterior mirror will not tilt up as much as I would like and this somewhat limits my visibility in the distance to the rear. I am 6' 2". I assume this would be even more of an issue for a taller person. I checked another CM at the dealer and they all seem to be this way. My dealer service person told me others have mentioned this as well, and that there doesn't seem to be any way to change the range of the mirror tilt. This is a bit of a safety issue and I would hope that Mini issues some type of modification for the mirror. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know how to remove the mirror cap? I might take a look inside and see if I can come up with a modification on my own.

This may not help at all but would lowering the drivers seat help? I'm not sure what that would do to seating position though.

Mirror caps have 5 clips around the inside. Plastic on the ones I have,
don't know if they are all the same. Have no idea how to get them off without breaking the clips. Maybe the dealer uses a special tool to get in there. I would think a screwdriver would mar the edge of the cap and probably break the clip unless you did it just right. HTH....Matthew

I'm just abput 6'2 myself and also found the range limiting. However, I just lowered the drivers seat all the way down and the problem is solved while still being in a comfortable position.

I do keep my seat at the lowest position and that helps a lot, but still I find myself bending down slightly to see clearly in the distance to the rear, and I would really like to eliminate that.

I will ask my dealer how to get the mirror caps off. Maybe they can do it for me and I can look at the mechanism.

Remember that road rallye movie about 25 years ago (forget the name) but the driver gets in the car and rips the rearview mirror off the windshield and tosses it out the window then says "first rule about Italian racing is whats a behind you doesn't matter" LOL. Classic.
