Camden seats...and jeans help!

I need help cleaning blue Jean stains on my camden's seats (white leather & ray cloth).

I've used Meguiar's gold class leather cleaner & conditioner with some painter's rag that seemed to get some off, but it's not giving it the clean white look anymore. Any other product recommendations?

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

Thanks.

I don't have a cleaning solution, but I can certainly understand. I have the same problem with light-colored leather seats in my hybrid. What I have learned to do, when I get a new pair of jeans, is to make sure I put a clean towel under my butt so that the blue dye doesn't directly touch the leather.

I wash new jeans a few times before wearing. But, my seats are mostly black and are lapis blue down the middle. I don't think I could ever own a light colored interior.

Try Leatherique, their stuff is expensive and hard to apply, but I hear it works very well.

Pocari, I really like the Meguiars Leather Conditoner for keeping the leather soft (and it smells damn good also), but for cleaning I really prefer the Mothers Leather Cleaner (this one MothersLeatherCleaner ). It hasn't let me down yet and it's very easy to use.

My current family hauler is a Chrysler Pacifica and it has the lightest tan leather seats you have ever seen. So far the Mothers has gotten out - cherry pop, dye from a black leather jacket and rust that got on the corner of the seats from the seat brackets. I thought the rust and black leather were going to be the worst, but with a bit of scrubbing (just using a rough terry cloth towel) the stains came right out. I can't guarantee that it will work, but it's the best I've found, so it's worth a try

Try it in a hidden spot first just to make sure it won't affect the colour of your seats.....but I've used it on a lot of different colours of leather and it hasn't hurt any of them. After you clean it, follow up with a good conditioner. Like I said, I like the Meguiars Conditioner (just the conditioner, not the cleaner/conditioner) but another good one is the Lexol Conditioner ( lexolconditioner )

BTW...where in Canada are you?

Thanks guys, I'll probably give mother's a try since it's available locally. The white seats on the camden is the biggest downfall, I would've loved it if I could get it with lounge leather!

I'm from Vancouver BC, I'll edit my profile.

Thanks! =]

I can only imagine how hard it is to look after white leather (like I said, the light tan in the Pacifica is bad enough). Still though, the Camden with the white interior is an amazing looking car. I think you'll like the Mothers cleaner and using either the Lexol or Meguiars conditioner after that should keep the seats looking new

I was asking where you lived because there are so few Canucks on here. I was going to say that since we have a couple small rallies down this way every year we might end up crossing paths at one of them..........but BC to NB is a hell of a long way to drive for an 80 to 100 vehicle MINI Rally

Phils advice (provided above) is solid. Leather Masters is what you need.

Meguires will never clean off dye transfer.

I will second using LeatherMasters. Strong cleaner might take it all out. But if not you need to use the spot remover. Then you NEED to follow it up with Vital & Protection cream. It will help the transfer to lessen, or not happen again.

I would not get the "soft" cleaner, get the "strong" cleaner. Same stuff, just higher concentration with the strong. I dilute the strong to make soft.

You need Leather Vital as well, it goes on after the strong cleaner. I would also start with the strong cleaner, it may take it all off for you. If you can find a "potato" brush to work the cleaner into the leather.

2. Leather Soft Cleaner (or the Hard one)
3. Leather Vital
4. Leather Master Protection Cream

Does that seem right?

We use the leather master, here is a sample of how it works with the camden seats:

What I have noticed though is the colored stitching will probably loose it's color over time so I would recommend you don't over clean, at least in the seams.

I used the hard cleaner and the leather vital, but never get enough time to finish up with the protection cream. I've only cleaned them 3 times.

I have had the same issue. Mr. Clean magic eraser gets them right off. I also use it on the steering wheel. Anywhere you put your hands. Then I treat the leather with hide food.

Don't rub to hard with the magic eraser, it can also remove the leather dye. It's a chemical cleaner believe it or not.

Yes light rub will take the stain right off.

Be careful with the magic eraser...it's actually an abrasive and will eventually rub right through the fabric.

i have used it without any issues on my 3 mercedes and with my wife's MCS Convertible. You just have to rub light and wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.
