For Those Waiting For Their New 2011...

I know this has been stated before but probably needs repeating for the anxious amongst us. The Mini Usa site says my car is still on its ocean journey when in fact it was unloaded at the dealer yesterday.

Your MA is the person who will answer your questions and track your vehicle to include the ship it is on if you can't find it yourself.

Do you know what day your MINI was completed? Also, what port is your car heading to?
Your MA should be able to give you the details, once the car has left port then ASKMINI can't help as all info is sent to the dealership. Ship info and arrival dates are very accurate.

Before I left the house on Thursday I checked MiniUsa and it showed my car as still being on the ship. Two hours later I took delivery in Knoxville . So it could be your car is further along than you think.

As Annette suggested check with your Motoring Adviser, aka MA, aka professionally trained salesman. Other than the exact location of the ship they have access to the best information as to location of your car. My MA was very good about keeping me updated. I have seen this posted before so hopefully it is the norm and not the exception.

In my case, my MA was not getting that same information:

On Weds of last week, the Sales Manager called me to let us know the car had been checked in to the 'final processing center' and we could expect to hear something in 4 to 7 days. Next morning, our MA called to say the car was at their location and we could pick her up as early as Friday....4 days went fast.

Before that Wednesday call my Dealer said.. the car would be in in 4-6 weeks from date of order (jan 15), and that it was only a month, and they had no other info.

I picked the car up on Feb 18...the order was actually placed with MINI on Monday Jan 17...so the car came in a month!!...

Not all MAs either get the info, or are giving that level of detail out, even when asked. The only reason I had my production # was because my dealer had me re-sign a copy of the order, because we were changing the color. (it was no longer available with a black roof)

I am VERY HAPPY with my MA even though she did not tell me what ship it was on or the exact moment it docked in NJ...did I really NEED to know all that? no, it was cool, but it just made me more insane impatiently waiting!

my Husband's take on all this... "It will get here when it gets here."

I am waiting patiently. According to the shipping info, the boat should land in Baltimore on the 2/26. So I figure a few days for off-loading and inspection and a few days on a truck to my dealer. Should take delivery somewhere around the 10th of March. We'll see how accurate my guess is.
