What was the first car you ever drove?
When I was about 13 or 14 a friend of the family let me drive his Plymouth K Car station wagon on his farm. It was a blast.
In high school, my first car was a 1982 Chevette, metallic blue, 4-speed.
Oh, and when I was 8, I drove my uncle's Mini Moke in Australia. I couldn't reach the pedals, but I got to sit in his lap and steer.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Moke was a Mini based Jeep like thing. Here's a pic:

I learned to drive in a 1964 Chevy 1/2 pick-up truck, with "three on the tree" shifting. I was about 12 at the time. Everything else since that brute has been a breeze to drive.

Since I was in boarding school and had no need for a car, I learned to drive my dad's 1986 BMW 5 series. I think it was a 528, but not positive. It taught me to expect any decent car to perform at least as well as that BMW.
The first car I "owned" was a 1976 Buick Regal that my dad's friend with a used car lot sold us for $1000 with the promise that he would buy it back for $800 after I was done using it for a 2 month summer job in Florida. We called it "Old Yaller" because it was a hideous yellow color and had a mis-matching yellow colored door and hood. A truly hideous beast!
My first "real" car was a 1990 Saab 900 S as the turbo was too expensive to insure for a freshman in college.

Truth be told, though, the first car I "drove" was dad's old 1969 Chevy C10 pickup. When I was four, he'd let me sit on his lap and steer, and work the column-mounted manual transmission.
The first car I ever owned was 1987 Ford Taurus MT-5 wagon. 2.5L pushrod I-4. Five speed manual transmission. Good times.
Who knew that, ten years and 67 cars later (56 used, 11 new), I'd be happiest with the smallest car I've ever owned!

Whoa!
I've owned 8 cars in 25 years (6 used, 2 new), and of the eight I still own four of them!
Talk about different automotive styles.

The first "car" I drove was actually a 1948 Diamond T truck that my dad has (no I'm not that old). Just drove it around a few laps in a field.
The first car I drove on the road was a 1979 VW Dasher (diesel with only 42 hp

1964 Corvair Monza Spyder (convertable). It was my grandmother's. She let me "drive" down her driveway...which since she lived way out in the country was actually basically a 3 mile dirt road. Grandma was a bit of a character.

1965 Dodge Dart 2 dr. sedan. No headliner, rugs and rust for paint. Loved it til I finally figured out oil was needed for lubrication. 35-38 cars later, my MCS beats them all. ('cept for that Maseratti a friend loaned me for a week

1982-ish Jeep Grand Wagoneer. When I was 12, all over the yard and hay field. 2nd time driving was with the horse trailer attached. Oddly enough, it was training for the tractor...
I've only one car, and that was my Mini. Though to be fair, I had a Ford Taurus that was effectively mine through high school.
