What was the first car you ever drove?
1969 Pontiac Grand Prix. What a boat!

Car I learned to drive on was a 1980 Subaru 4 door 4 speed(before they were all wheel drive). Car I drove was a Turbo Opal Rally wagon.
After that they fall into this order...
1975 VW Super Beetle with dual 2 barrel weber carbs, lightened flywheel, headers, etc....(sold it when I went to college)
1976 Mercury Monarch 2 door (the Mercury version of the Ford Granada) with a 302 V8. (Died in the driveway of the house I lived in while in college)
1980-something Oldsmobile Cutlass (actually my now-wife, then girlfriend's car, but she let me drive it)
1986 Mazda B2200 SE-5 pick-up
1989 VW Jetta GLS (replaced the Gutless Cutlass when we got married)
1996 Jeep Cherokee (replaced both the Jetta and the Maza P-U. We went down to one car for about 2 years while trying to get pregnant. Long story)
1999 Dodge Durango and 1999 Mazda 626 Both of these replaced the Jeep. Woo-hoo back to 2 cars
we got rid of the 626 for our 03EB/WH MCS. Still have the Durango, but looking at trading it in on an 04 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCrew.
Want to get one of these, when I have the mad money to get a third car.... Marauder S

1968 Rambler station wagon. Yea, my folks drove junk. My first car was worse though - '64 Dodge Dart 4 door with pushbutton automatic. What a pig, but the bench seat was nice for a high school junior!

the first car i drove all time was a 1976 chevy cappris classic (sp?) it was 4 doors and silver. a huge car, but it had a 400 small block in it ans a great rear end gear so it would rip it up.
i then bought my 1973 nova. a way funner car.

Hehe, ready for this...
A 1978ish big 'ol yellow Thomas built school bus! That's right folks, a full size school bus. I'd say I was 13 or 14 at the time. My father was a school bus driver at the time. He was also a race car driver at that time also. Some times he'd mix the two
Some of the things he'd do with that bus would make parents cringe today! It's hard to imagine getting a bus into a drift, but it can be done! (dirt roads of course)
oh, those were the days...

things have gone down hill from there. buyem and keep them is my moto. 56 healey, 69 van and many more like the small stuff and the fun ride. happy to have the opportunity of to have mini to own and drive. there was a time they wouldn't let you own a fun car.

First Automatic to drive- 1990 Pontiac Trans Port aka: The Boeing 737
First Car: 1994 Nissan Maxima
First Manual to drive: 1973 Corvette- I only got to drive this around the neighborhood, never really got to DRIVE it. It was also my manual learning car. My dad would take me out in this before I got my MINI.

>>1964 Corvair Monza Spyder (convertable). It was my grandmother's. She let me "drive" down her driveway...which since she lived way out in the country was actually basically a 3 mile dirt road. Grandma was a bit of a character.

One of my favourite stories...
A 1968 Pontiac Catalina, in 1972. That car was a boat.
My Dad taught me the finer points in the art of Hit and Run driving after I screwed up a diagonal parking attempt and sideswiped the car in the space next to us. I'll never forget that lesson. Statute of Limitations up on it yet?

The first car I ever drove was a 4-speed 1967 Mustang fastback. I remember having a hard time reaching the shortened shifter and seeing out the windshield at the same time. The second, and the one I learned the art of double-clutching on was a 1928 Chevy Landau Coupe - all original with 24k miles. Both of these events happened WAAAY before I got my license and were courtesy of my older brother without my father ever knowing.

First car I drove (illegally) was a 1993 Pontiac Trans-Sport when I was 14. My parents caught me when I was driving, it sucked. When I turned 16, my car was a 1986 Grand Am SE. The bondo-mobile! I thought it was tre-cool with full power and a stick V6!

(not gonna do it!)
