R60 Where are you?
Greetings all –
With the Countryman community ever expanding, both numerically and geographically, we’re getting to the point where “universal” answers may not be the best answers. Consider questions on tires (Arizona or Pennsylvania?), All4 (Florida or Vermont?), or regular / S (Kansas or Colorado?). Though not one answer fits the question, one answer fits the solution. It’s in your user profile here at NAM – the Location Entry. Look up to the right and you’ll notice that I’m in Cottage City, MD. If I ask about putting gold fringe around the windshield and a tricked-out air suspension on my Countryman, you can give me a positive thumbs up. Likewise the 24” chrome wheels with rubber bands.
So, I’m inviting everyone to let us know where you are. It’s a free-form entry, so if you are embarrassed by your hometown or worried about the FBI, you can be general (Central Kansas, Western Washington State). We know that some hometowns can be a little difficult or not PC (Blue Ball, PA).
Thanks,
Sealy

Been a big fan of AWD since my first car...wanted AWD, but only found 2WD and ended up wrecking it in the snow when I was cut off on the highway. Long story, but I have had AWD/4WD on my last few cars and never regret it. Also live in a mountainous area between two small mountains and have to travel over a third to get to work. Woo hoo! _/\

All:
Add your location to your profile. We don't need your street address- City & State is perfect.
Sealy:
Thanks for posting this. I think location should be mandatory when folks sign up!
Cheers,
Paul.

Ahah - the mysterious Kennigtons that's been handing out the bad advice on Pure Orange in the color thread. Too much orange in the red, indeed. Now that I know where you are, I'm even more shocked. You have most of orange in your state name. Time to let yourself be sunkisted.

You need the all4 if the Indiana winter this year is any indication of how it's going to be!
I have ordered the all4 just so I can get out of the driveway. Living in north central Ohio we can get a lot of snow and ice. My driveway is about 2 to 3 tenthes of a mile and it is all up hill. Getting in is no problem. I can get out sometimes with my 2002 MCS but normally end up in our Dodge Dakota 4 wheel drive pick up.

ALL4S with the increasing amounts of snow and I live on a big hill and we seem to be getting more ice, its the way to go - It also tamed any hint of torque steer so much so that I think I need more power to get the wriggle back in the steering wheel
p.s whats the best local MINI club , looking to meet some folks in my area and I see a couple listed

No real need for the All4 here in GA, got the CMs. Even in a recent monsoon she handled beautifully!

Hey Jason, what part of Dallas are you in? We got MINIme from Sewell MINI of Plano and will probably be heading back there sometime in the next month or so to get tint done. We've also got family in Plano. If you see a Surf Blue CMS with a "Hi" badge on the front, give us a wave!

Born and raised in Tulsa, OK but lived in CO, LA, TX and Germany thanks to the US Army. M1A1 Tank Commander- now that's the ultimate off road vehicle but at $2.1 million used can't quite afford it.
