Dunlop Direzza dz101 with Kosei's fitment question

Hi. I'm about to purchase a set of Kosei wheels (17x7 all around) and was wondering if 215/40/17 would fit. The car is currently stock but i will probably be doing suspension modifications in the future. Thanks!

What do you want to do with the car?

Many with Gen 1 like to with with 215/40 17 series to get better gearing and to make better use of the torque curve from the supercharger.

Many with Gen 2 will go with the 215/45 17 as it has better torque.

Your call.

Just an aside, the dunlops z101 is not a great tire choice.

Sorry i actually meant the Dunlop Star Specs. I ran them on my old E46 and loved them. Don't think you can find a better bang for the buck tire than them. But anyways my car is a Gen2 so i'm assuming the fitment may be different or not by much? Also I'll be using the car for my daily and a few de's throughout the year.

I do about 15-20 DEs on my DD a year on my R56 and prefer the 215/45 17 size.

I like Dunlop Z1 star specs but you should not run them on the track at full thread because they will chunk. I use them now mostly as a wet tire.

Not sure where you are located but if you are in the NE USA, please join us when we run out to the track.

I really like the 215/40-17 size. It looks perfect
