has anyone had this isssue my car 07 mcs with nav. systems mini of knoxville said this is a problem mini usa is trying to figure out

 

I'm having the same issue...just started. Reset day/time, occasionally shows a mini on a hydraulic lift (not due for service for 4K miles according the car), had parking light malfunction message for a couple of days, now gone, trip mileage in the driver's display (not the nav) keeps resetting.

I have an appt on Thursday. Please let me know if you got any answers.

 

battery went dead without any side of going dead has been 10 days since install of new battery no problems so far

 

battery should last about 4-5 years, shorter if you have more electronics options - comfort access, alarm, navi, etc. however, there could be a parasitic battery drain if one the electronics goes haywire. a new battery will only temporary fix the problem until it goes dead again within 1-2 years.

i had this problem on my bmw where the comfort access short circuit was the culprit. unfortunately, my bmw was out of warranty at the time.

make sure you ask your dealer that they check all the electronics.

 

How many miles a week are you driving it? My Mini does something similar but it only gets driven a few times a month. My dealer stated it was from lack of driving however I've always been suspicious since it was driven (or lack of) the same way during it's first year without any battery trouble.
