My husband got a new Droid X today to replace his BB Curve. We easily paired the Droid with his 2009 JCW, but we're having big trouble with the sound quality.

When he makes a call, the sound in the car is fine, but he sounds terrible to the person on the other end. It's almost like it's overloaded or something. The BB worked fine, so we're really surprised to have a problem.

Any ideas? What could we be missing?

 

My 2010 S was the same way with poor sound for the listener but not to bad in the car. One I thnik the Mic is on the pasanger side so moving it to the drivers side would be a big help. see other threads. My 2011 JCW is way better using my Droid X. The mic is moved in this car I believe and the car has much more sound deading materials to quite down the interior. Much improved. I was not going ot order the Bluetooth phone because it was so poor in my 2010-Waste of money. Dealer said it was much improved for 2011 and he was correct.

 

The thing is that the BB worked fine. Seems to be a problem with the Droid X.

 

Never mind. We've figured out the problem.

The day we got the new phone, the Mini also went in for service. I tried pairing my BB with the car and the sound quality is also bad with that (both my husband and I have Minis and Blackberrys--he now has the DroidX).

So, the problem is that Service somehow screwed up the microphone! I'll be taking it in again this week...
